Sunday Development XI
Captain :
David Clement
Having long passed my 40th birthday, I am one of the older players in the Sunday Development XI. I am in my 3rd season of playing and am learning more with every practice and game.
I have always loved watching the game and am a keen supporter of England and my home county which is Warwickshire (c'mon you Bears!)
Vice Captain :
Neil Cameron
Full Name - Neil Stuart Alexander Cameron (my old man has a lot to answer for!)
Nickname - Boonie (Apprently I used to look like him; it's the beer I think!); other nicknames TC (I'll tell you one day) Cammo (can't think why) and Orange Peel. Guess which one I prefer?
In my day - Fast-medium, occasional off-break bowler and lower order biffer.
Nowadays - somewhat the other way round without the pace, or the spin or the biffing! But still like to give it a whack - much more cultured with the wand (just ask Steely). Top score of 82* for Peebles County, an 89* at school both chasing totals down. Still think I have a century in me but it might be in ounces!
Career best bowling 6-26 (as a quickie at 18, all bowled) and 7-12 (several years later offie's - hey if I didn't know what I was doing with it neither would the batter). Have three hat-tricks to my name, one all lbw! No my dad wasn't umpiring but . . . !
Borders Cricket DO since 2004.
Club Coach Award (Level 2.5) Coached Scotland Wildcats U-17s to first domestic and international win.
For my sins West Bromwich Albion FC, Warwickshire CCC and Hull RLFC supporter and very defiitely Welsh during the Six Nations (my mum was umpiring that one)!
But my greatest achievemnet (to date) is qualifying for SAGA holidays, insurance etc. - just like Greeno!
