Match report With no league game scheduled, we set up a friendly with some players from Carlton. The game was a 25 over per side and we took the opportunity to play younger players and those who are fairly new to the Sunday XI. We won the toss and put Carlton into bat.

Some good early bowling from Ed Blissit and Ollie Picken got us in a good position as we picked up 3 early wickets. For Carlton, Keating and Beattie put together a good partnership to get them back in the game. Good bowling and fielding helped us keep the Carlton score down to 92 for 8 in their 25 overs. Best of the bowling was Ollie Picken with 3 overs, 2 maidens, 1 for 1, with Jake Perry not far behind with 3 overs, 2 for 3.

Our pursuit of 93 to win got off to a good start as Craig Bryen and Scott Charleson added a 30 runs inside the first 7 overs. Unfortunately, they were both out in quick succession and the innings somewhat stalled as wickets fell at regular intervals afterwards. In the end, we came up 7 short of the target.

Despite the defeat, there were positives and all the young players acquitted themselves well.
